JUNIOR NETBALL INFO

The Heathmont Jets Netball Club juniors was formed in 2019 by amalgamating the Rangeview Rangers Netball Club and Heathmont Jets, and is affiliated with Netball Victoria and is a member of the Melbourne East Netball Association (MENA).

Rangeview Rangers Netball Club was established in 1988 and has a proud history that has given us the foundation to grow into the club we have today.

We cater for NetSetGo players (5yo & 6yo), and then from U/9 to Open age grades.  Competition grades are then broken up into sections as determined by MENA. Best efforts are made to ensure players/teams play with and against other players/teams of similar ability. The club proudly fields teams in all grades and caters for players of all ability.

Games are played on Friday evenings and Saturdays at Maroondah Nets, HE Parker Reserve, Heathmont Road Heathmont.

1988: The club was formed on 19th April by Margaret Barlow & Carmen Scott as the Verdale Netball Club. The teams trained at the Verdale Primary School. 1989-94: The club grew to around 90 members. 1995-97: other local primary school merged with Verdale. The name of the new bigger school was changed to Rangeview, after the name of the local shops.

1998: A call for more committee members was answered and the committee increased to eight members. 1999: On 4th October, the members voted to change the club's name to Rangeview Rangers Netball Club. This kept the club's name aligned with the local school and area. The committee immediately strengthened links with the local primary school and start-ed recruiting strongly. The number of teams rose to eight. 2000: The number of teams rose to ten. SkillTech become the major sponsor of the club.
