Match Reports: Round 7 vs Boronia

SENIORS The Seniors were out to make amends for their efforts against Scoresby last week, with four changes to the side and they came out firing with a couple of quick goals on the board! Their free flowing game had returned and they were running, hitting targets. Two goals to English and one to Knowles and Colombo saw us take in a 22 point lead at quarter time whilst keeping Boronia goalless. It was a more even quarter in the second but an injury to ruckman Jon Wynn saw him take no further part in the game. The goals were still flowing and were being spread around. Kev with a usual kick off the ground started the run and Jono chipped in for two; one from a set shot at the 50 metre arc and t

Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2017 Episode 3 - Millie Douglas

It was a canine affair down at the Hangar for our Round 7 clash with Boronia. The Heathmont Hound Scout was in heaven - puppy cuddles everywhere they looked! But it did make choosing this week's Hound a very difficult job. In the end, we couldn't go past the newest member of the Hangar: 9 week old chocolate Labrador/Kelpie pup, Millie Douglas, the brand new addition to senior player Liam Douglas' clan. After recently losing their much loved family pooch Bailey (a long-time Jets supporter), Dougie's family were going to wait a few months before considering another pup, but Millie won their hearts. Just look at those eyes! They had no hope! Along with watching her big brother play for the Jets

Jetballers Game Reports - Round 5

It's been a great start to the season for the club, 2 teams equal top of the ladder, Yellow team undefeated, and a great club vibe building. Round 5 HEATHMONT White vs Boronia Score: 24-32 White have had an extremely tough run. Coming up against second on the ladder in Div 1. We had some amazing passages of play but unfortunately couldn't pull off the win. Lots to work on and we are looking forward to proving our selves in the coming weeks. The way the girls have come together to support the team and club is a testament to their positive attitudes. Best players: Stevie Morgan Zoe HEATHMONT Blue vs Park Orchards Score: 20-39 The girls started really strong in defence and they all pla

Match Reports: Round 6 vs Scoresby

SENIORS We travelled to Scoresby with intent of playing a competitive game to keep us up there in top spot, but the opposition had other ideas. On another sunny day, with the wind conditions possibly playing a part in the day’s proceedings, the team took the field. Scoring was proving elusive in the first quarter. It was well into the latter half that Kev accepted a handpass from a Regan Davis mark and kicked truly. The pressure being applied by the opposition was causing the team to fumble and miss their targets; they couldn’t get their free flowing run going. A good pack mark in front of goal by Monkey added 6 points to our score. And one of the few highlights was Kev’s running goal from t

Best players: Zoe Sammy Kim HEATHMONT BLACK vs Glen Waverley Score 22-19 Great effort put in by all the girls, in a tough game. Match Reports: Round 5 vs Warrandyte/Whitehorse

SENIORS The Seniors welcomed Warrandyte to the Hangar last Saturday and the weather made playing conditions perfect. There was a forced late change to the side on Saturday morning - the coach! So Justin O’Dwyer and Peter Campbell took over the reins for the day. [Glad to report Joel is well and truly on the mend]. There were other changes to the team and we welcomed a couple of first gamers into the side: Under 19 player Ryan Burleigh and Dev. Squad member Jack Hendricks. Congrats to Captain Dylan Sverns on his 150th Senior game. The Jets came out firing with a 5 goal to 2 goal quarter. Chris Colombo was relishing the call up to the ones and kicked a goal off the ground to open our account.

Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2017 Episode 2 - Albert Rourke

This week's Heathmont Hound belongs to an ever growing dynasty of Bulldog Jets. This handsome fella is 8-month old purebred British Bulldog Albert Rourke - the youngest member of senior captain Tom and former senior coach Simon Rourke's Bulldog brood. You may remember older brother Archie featured on Hounds of Heathmont a few seasons ago. The two boys are regulars down at the Hangar. Albert is just a pup and is still growing into his snout. He adores the attention he gets at the footy so keep it coming! At home, Albert is a lot cheekier than his brother and currently loves terrorising the Rourke household. But luckily, unlike Archie, he doesn't snore... yet. #HoundsofHeathmont #News

Jetballers Game Reports - Round 3 & Round 4 Fixtures

HEATHMONT White Vs Fair Park Fair Park have won the past 2 grand finals in Premier so we knew we had our work cut out. It was a really well fought out game. The girls came together and worked on court structure and one on one defence. I was so proud of white for fighting until the end. A injury saw the game come to an abrupt end. We wish our captain and all round superstar Bec Anderiessen a speedy recovery! Best players: Alkira Bec A Stacey HEATHMONT Blue Vs Forest Hill Score: 17 - 35 Amazing effort put in by the girls in another super physical game. We trailed for most of the game but never dropped our heads and continued to play our game till the end. Best players: Jacqui Kym A

Match Reports: Round 4 vs Chirnside Park

SENIORS The Melbourne weather lived up to its reputation last Saturday – where we went from playing the first two games in beautiful sunshine to heavy rain just as the Seniors ran out onto the field. The rain bought it back to a level playing field, with goals hard to come by, slippery conditions making it hard to hold marks and difficult to produce a free flowing game by either side. Chirnside Park scored the first major for the day, but the Jets kept pushing it forward and a kick through the pack by Kev landed on the chest of Jarrod Spurrell, who kicked truly for our first goal. The ball was moving goal line to goal line without much success to either side, another goal to Spurrell towards

Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2017 Episode 1 - Django English

Hounds of Heathmont is back for Season 2017! Each home game we'll be on the hunt down at the Hangar for a special pooch to be featured. Our first four-legged Jet is none other than Django English. This ruggedly handsome boy belongs to the seniors superstar playing assistant coach, Brent English. Django is three quarters French Bulldog, one quarter miniature bulldog and still has plenty of growing to do - he's just nine months old! Django's favourite things to do include rolling around outside, sniffing new smells and showing off his impressive snaggle tooth (see the comments for more photos!). Come find me at the footy! I'm always up for a pat. #HoundsofHeathmont #News

Best players: Cass Lindsay Madi HEATHMONT Yellow Vs. Nunawading Score: 22-17 Game highlights: It was a good physical game with the score pretty close all game until the last quarter we were able to slip away for a win. Best players: Kim Zoe Sammy HEATHMONT Blue Vs Upper FTG Score: 24-28 The girls played a really strong game against

Match Reports: Round 3 vs East Burwood

SENIORS The club hasn’t played East Burwood since the 1960’s, although there have been plenty of finals matches played on that oval over recent years. The team were determined to keep their unbeaten record in tack and welcomed back co-captain Dylan Sverns from injury, and Under 19 debutant Lucas Grierson to the side. It was also Brent English’s 200th game of football in the EFL, a great milestone. It wasn’t pretty football with goals hard to come by. Eventually first game player Lucas Grierson scored his first goal in senior football and opened our account. But it was points that were adding up and finally Ben Abbruzzese kicked truly. But I think we found our goal of the year through Chris
