Jetballers Game Reports - Round 9

HEATHMONT Yellow vs Ferntree Gully 16-19 Yellow had a challenge on their hands coming up against the 2nd on the ladder to our 1st. The girls had a shaky start, but quickly regained their composure & saw themselves in chase position for the first time this season. A very physical game but the girls kept their heads and played all 4 quarters to the Heathmont standard of skill & attitude. Defense was tight across the entire court with impressive intercepts & pressure. Goalers fought hard against a rugged defence & the midcourt worked hard & patiently to work the ball down. The girls fought hard to close the gap and in the end lost by just 3 goals. Best Players: Larni Nikki Nat HEATHMONT Wh

Match Reports: Round 10 vs Park Orchards

SENIORS It was a big day at the Hangar, with the 300 Club supporters day, the EFL radio game and a top of the table clash with Park Orchards. Both teams ran out with high expectations and the first quarter saw a very competitive game, with the ball rebounding from one end to the other and defence holding strong. Scoring was indeed hard to come by for both sides. We had the ball down our forward line for most of the quarter but couldn’t score, a snap late in the quarter by Jono Knudsen saw us open our account and it was a seven point game at quarter time. Park Orchards were attempting to break free and peppering their forward line, our defence was standing strong, and it was points not goals

Match Reports: Round 9 vs The Basin

SENIORS Well it was the Big Barry show at The Basin on Saturday, and the fans came to watch. There must have been 3-4,000 people there by the time the Seniors ran out onto the ground. We had ‘The Heathmont Pocket’ in amongst all those fans and were quite visual with the new club beanies and made sure we could be heard cheering the boys on in some deathly quiet moments! There were a few debutants to the team as well, with Jack MacDonald up from the U19’s and Jordan Haynes on loan from the Box Hill Hawks for his first Senior game with the Jets. Rob Savory was also back up into the side. It was a finals type atmosphere and pretty intense opening minutes, the ball made it up to Barry who took a

Match Reports: Round 8 vs Ferntree Gully

SENIORS We ventured up to play Ferntree Gully for the first time in six years, it was to be another top of the table clash. There had been quite a few forced changes for the game due to injury and unavailability, and we welcomed another two Under 19 players into the side, Fin Brown in the forward line and Cam Evans in the ruck, to join Cookie Grierson and Brent Honey. FTG had all the running in the first part of the quarter and were hitting the scoreboard, their inaccuracy did keep us in the game with Spuzz kicking our first goal to lift the side and they did in the second part of the quarter. A mark to Kev and another goal saw us 6 points in arrears with debutant Fin Brown kicking a goal on

Jetballers Game Reports - Round 6

Round 6 A huge shout out to Black and yellow who are both sitting top of the ladder. Fantastic effort girls. Also a big thanks to the great support the footy boys, parents and partners have been showing. HEATHMONT BLACK v Mulgrave 27-20 Another great win for the black team, all the girls worked really well and put the work from training into practice. Having a very strong dominant shooter for Mulgrave meant extra pressure from our defenders and they did amazing to shut down the play and cherish the ball. Best players: Lindsay Madi E Ash M HEATHMONT WHITE v Lilydale 24-30 A great start to the game saw White have some fantastic passages of play. Every player worked really hard at thei
