Match Reports: Round 14 vs Chirnside Park

SENIORS With the season on the line it was a must win for the Seniors to keep themselves within reach of playing finals in a very close Third Division this year. Venturing up to Chirnside Park was never going to be easy as they had found form over the past weeks and knew how to play their ground. As in the days previous matches the wind would play a major factor in this game. The coach had thrown a few players around in different positions to see if that could combat our inaccuracy in front of goal. We welcomed Kev Clarke back too. The Jets had the wind in the first quarter and a great goal by Rob Savory opened our account and then another in quick succession before Chirnside had scored. Th

Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2017 Episode 4 - Beau Stephens

The hound scout has been off on vacation for the last month. But we're back at it this week with a very special pup. A Jetballer! This is two year old Beau - a handsome Chinese Crested Dog and the much loved four-legged friend of Jetballer Zoe Stephens. Although he is spoilt with attention nowadays, this poor little fella had a rough and unstable start to life. When his first owner passed away Beau was sent to doggy jail. A farm-dwelling family soon adopted him, but the farm life wasn't the life for Beau (hairless dogs and winter on a farm do not go well). Luckily for Beau, third time really was a charm when he was adopted by Zoe's family. He has been loved ever since! Besides coming dow

Match Reports: Round 13 vs Templestowe

SENIORS As the coach had stated, it had been a very competitive and positive week on the track and the signs were there to change the team’s fortunes on the ground. Unfortunately there were quite a few forced changes due to yet more injuries. Ryan Young was to miss his first ever game of football breaking a remarkable feat of playing every game since he began in Juniors, and goal kicking machine Kev Clarke was out with a hamstring injury – he would be sorely missed. The side welcomed back Jack MacDonald and Cookie Grierson from the U19’s, debutant Jack Leithhead from the Development Squad and also from the Squad, Joel Merrett. There was a lot riding on the outcome of this game, and we congra

Match Reports: Round 12 vs Ringwood/Glen Waverley

SENIORS With the Past Players watching from the clubrooms and the Parker Family Cup at stake it was always going to be a big day. The team was addressed by some Heathmont greats of the past, Wayne Hanley and Steve Shore, prior to the game on what Heathmont means to them. Ringwood were sitting just one game below us on the ladder so a win would have consolidated our position in the top part of the ladder. There were a few welcome inclusions back into the side, with Jon Wynne, Josh Davis, Jack Cornwell and Ben Abbruzzese back from injury, and Jon Knudsen back into the side. Games against our neighbours are always competitive no matter whereabouts on the ladder both teams sit so this shouldn't

Match Reports: Round 11 vs South Belgrave

SENIORS Winter had arrived and there was certainly a chill in the air as we ventured up to South Belgrave to try and make amends for last week. A late change to the side saw Jessie Francis come up to the Seniors to replace Ben Abbruzzese and we welcomed Wade Van Leeuwen back into the Seniors from the U19’s. It appeared to be a hesitant start to the quarter by the boys, with South Belgrave making all the play in the first part of the quarter. Brent English broke through for our first goal of the quarter which started a run, with Kev popping up with two and Jarrod Spurrell for another. Unfortunately we lost defender Jake Sherriff with an ankle injury and unable to take further part in the game
