Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2018 Episode 2 - Harley

What an incredible day it was down at the Hanger yesterday for the Jets’ round 4 clash against the Waverley Blues. The autumn sun was shining bright and no one was more happy about this than 5 year old Golden Retriever, Harley. Just look at that smile! Harley's human is Godra’s (Jesse Francis) partner Steph. And as you can see by his attire, he just loves coming down and supporting the Jets on Saturdays. Especially when Godra and the boys come away with a win! Harley is a gentle, friendly soul. In fact, he loves people far more than other dogs! He would much prefer a cuddle from his humans rather than a play date with another pooch. This means the Hound Scout got plenty of Hound cuddles! Match Reports: Round 3 vs Warrandyte

SENIORS It was ANZAC round in the EFL this weekend and as both teams stood together in a mark of respect for the fallen, a tough match was about to unfold on the field. A few more necessary changes into this weeks side against Warrandyte with the inclusion for his first Senior game for the Jets Rob Wood and great to see Brent Honey back in too. From the first bounce it was going to be another fast and furious match, with both sides setting the pace early and both sides strongly contesting the football. Our inaccuracy in front of goals was again apparent in the first part of the quarter, with points not goals appearing on the scoreboard. But the highlights were there with Fin Brown again in t

Hounds of Heathmont: Season 2018 Episode 1 - Moose Rourke/Van Unen

Hounds of Heathmont is back for Season 2018! Each home game we'll be on the hunt down at the Hangar for a special pooch to be featured. The first Hound of the season is Moose Rourke/Van Unen: the brand new addition to senior’s captain Tom Rourke and Jetballer Jorja Van Unen’s little family. Moose is a purebred 10 week old basset hound. If you were down at the Hangar for Saturday’s win against Warrandyte you may have got a glimpse of this little cutie. He has quite a way to go before growing into those ears – they get in the way of everything from walking to eating meals! But while Moose is still learning puppy etiquette, he is an absolute smooch and will take all the cuddles he can get! #H

Match Reports: Round 2 vs South Belgrave

SENIORS After the wind, rain and hail from the Reserves match, the Seniors were treated to some sun as they ran out on the ground – but not for long. Although the rain had eased the wind couldn’t make up its mind which way it was blowing, making the opening term scrappy as both teams tried to cope with the conditions. There were a few new faces in this line up as Jake Sherriff and Ryan Burleigh came up from the DSquad, also congrats to Matt Decler on his first game of Senior football for the club. The Jets had the ball early but were finding it hard to score. A solid mark to Ryan Young then another by Kev Clarke saw the Jets first goal. Sth Belgrave weren’t being left behind and it was despe

Match Reports: Round 1 vs Ringwood

SENIORS The sun was out, the HE oval looked a treat – a perfect day for the start of the season. There had been plenty of activity during the off season, and the boys were primed and ready to face neighbourhood rivals Ringwood in what proved to be a close match. It was also round 1 for the Parker Family Cup, which was currently residing at Jubliee Park. It was great to see five of last year’s Under 19’s making that next step into the Seniors along with some new faces. We also welcomed former Junior player Jordan Haynes back from Box Hill and club ‘favourite’ Leigh Odermatt. So definitely a new look Senior side. The first quarter found both teams trying to find their feet with Ringwood pepper
