Annual General Meeting
The Jets AGM will be held on Wednesday 30th October from 7:30pm at the Manhattan Hotel (enter via main entrance, turn left into gaming room, go through past the gaming machines to the meeting room on the left).
We encourage all members, sponsors and supporters to attend. All positions on the committee are considered open for nomination. If you would like to be part of the committee, we'd love to hear from you in advance, or you can nominate on the night.

If you can support the club by doing even just one task regularly for us next season, we'd love to hear from you too. There is no need to join the committee and have the extra requirement of attending meetings. If you are willing to help out please let us know. Your presence at the meeting would be appreciated.
Enquiries can be made to club president Rob Parker or secretary Lesley Knudsen - details are on the contact us page.
*Note* If you'd like to nominate for the committee, you can download this form and fill it in, then either present it on the night or scan and send it to Lesley via email.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.

The Jets hosted the Redbacks last Saturday hoping to retain the Parker Family Cup and keep their finals hopes alive. They did just that with the seniors hanging on for a thrilling two point win. With the Basin losing to Templestowe, the Jets are one of three teams in contention for the fifth spot on the ladder with one round to go.
The reserves fought out a close game but fell short by just four points. The colts were easily defeated by top of the ladder Ringwood, but had some of their players helping out in the Jets reserves and seniors.
Ins and Outs for Round Seventeen
The seniors have announced two changes for the team taking on Ringwood to defend the Parker Family Cup. Luke Malmborg and Mark Birchall are omitted (but remain as emergencies) whilst Jaime Campbell returns and Ryan Young steps up from the colts for his first senior game.

Tigers Down Jets at Walker Park
ABOVE: Robby Savory flies for this spectacular marking contest. Photo - Chris Mirtschin
The Jets headed to Walker Park in Mitcham to take on the Tigers last Saturday and unfortunately were outclassed in all three games. The seniors put in an awesome effort defensively but couldn't apply enough scoreboard pressure themselves and fell short by 42 points. The reserves had a day they'd rather forget with a 185 point thrashing. The colts lost by 47 points despite finishing the game off quite well. Hopefully the Jets can improve on that when they take on Wantirna South next Saturday.
Ins and Outs for Round Fifteen
The Jets seniors have made three changes for the big game against Mitcham this Saturday. Coming in are Cameron McPherson and Kieren Rutley plus Luke Malmborg who makes his senior debut, up from the colts. The reserves struggled in their 44 point loss, and whilst the colts lost finished their game strongly, they also lost by 25 points.

The Jets headed to Kimberley Reserve to take on the Panthers last Saturday. The colts were unlucky to lose by five points in their match against the one team they had previously beaten. The reserves struggled in their 61 point loss.
The seniors made it three in a row as they hung on to win by five points. That win sees the Jets move into fifth position on the ladder, a game clear of the Basin. With tough games for both sides in the near future, the Jets will need to remain focused to retain this finals berth.

Jets Storm Home Against Hawks
ABOVE TOP: Anthony Hickey gets a kick away during the seniors win over the Hawks. ABOVE: Dave O'Brien takes a strong contested grab in the reserves narrow loss. Photos - Chris Mirtschin
The Jets hosted Glen Waverley Hawks last Saturday and stormed home for a 31 point win in the seniors game. This win sees the Jets draw level with the Basin on points on the ladder, although a fair bit of percentage still separates them.
The reserves gave it everything in their match but fell short by just 15 points in what was a very entertaining match. The colts struggled once more, but having spoken to a few of the players after the game, they remain positive.
Break in at the Hangar
Some thieves broke into the clubrooms at H.E. Parker Reserve last night (Tuesday night). There was a fair bit of damage done (broken window, broken door frame to the bar etc) and two cash registers were stolen, later found smashed up near the scout hall. If you'd like to see some photos of the damage head over to our Facebook page.
More importantly, if you have any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, please contact Ringwood police station on 9871 3000.

Jets Bounce Back to Beat Warrandyte - Reserves Win Too!
ABOVE TOP: Kevin Clark was amongst the Jets' best players against Warrandyte. He's seen here celebrating a goal, despite spending the bulk of the game driving the ball out of half back. ABOVE: The reserves finally break through for a win in 2013 - smiles all round. Photos - Chris Mirtschin
The Jets hosted Warrandyte last Saturday. the seniors bounced back from the previous week's disappointment at Boronia to record their biggest win of the season by 72 points. That win sees them move back up to sixth on the ladder, a game behind the Basin and a game clear of Ringwood.
The reserves finally had reason to smile with their convincing 49 point win. It was their first win for 2013 and they really enjoyed belting out the club song after the game.
The colts struggled in their game. Despite that, their coach Gareth Woodcock made an inspiring speech at the awards after the game, calling on all of the colts players present to come up. He's proud of their development and reminded all that they are the future of the club.
New Scoreboard Unveiled
The Jets finally debuted their new electronic scoreboard on Saturday. It's an absolute ripper. It's able to run video and will open up new promotional opportunities for the club and its sponsors. Special thanks go to Bendigo Bank and the Maroondah City Council for driving this to completion. It's been well worth the wait.
Heathmont Lions Club Deliver Again
The Lions club of Heathmont have already kindly provided the Jets seniors with a defibrillator machine that is housed at H.E. Parker Reserve, apart from away games when the trainers have it with them. Now they've provided the Jets juniors with a machine to keep at Heatherdale Reserve. Pictured above are junior club President, Franz Kielblock receiving the machine from Robin Kent from the Heathmont Lions Club.
Thanks very much to the Lions Club for your continued support. Whilst we hope to never have to use these machines, it's reassuring to have them available.

Good Sports - Jets Apply for Level Two Accreditation
Heathmont Football Club is displaying commitment to responsible alcohol management with an application for Level Two accreditation under the Australian Drug Foundation’s Good Sports program.
Good Sports is the first nationwide alcohol management program of its kind and is supported by VicHealth, the Traffic Accident Commission (TAC), the Department of Health and Department of Health & Ageing. The program was developed following research conducted by the Australian Drug Foundation which indicated that by introducing responsible alcohol management policies, clubs were able to improve membership and enhance viability.
The club is determined to meet the criteria required for the Level Two accreditation.
We now have a written alcohol management policy which includes the sale of low alcohol drinks and soft drinks and a safe transport strategy to ensure our members get home safely. We will provide food when serving alcohol and we will not have an emphasis on alcohol for player awards or fundraising, functions and prizes.
We are confident our efforts will continue to improve the environment at the Club. We are working to ensure the Heathmont Football Club is a great place to play and socialise for all members of our community.
The club will be regularly monitored to ensure we comply with the program. This is the responsibility of all members to make sure we do the right thing while we’re enjoying ourselves and having fun.
For more information about the accreditation program contact the committee or click here.
Coming Soon - 15th June - Beyond Blue Luncheon
An important message from Jo Hart-Parker
You may know that I took on a major role within the Women of the EFL networking group a few years ago and one of the worthwhile causes the WEFL threw their support behind was Beyond Blue.
This season the EFL has shown us their support by incorporating a Beyond Blue Round which will be held over the weekends of June 8th and June 15th. The main aim of the round is to get the information out there, encourage people to take action and hopefully help reduce the stigma surrounding depression and anxiety not only within our football community but further afield, whilst raising some much needed funds for Beyond Blue.
We are hosting a luncheon on Saturday June 15th to raise money. The luncheon is open to all so please spread the word and show your support for this worthy cause. Click here for a flyer about the luncheon.
For further information or to confirm your attendance, please call Jo Hart-Parker on 0405 277 053 or email her here.
Coming Soon - 15th June - Full Moon Party
Tonight's updates include revised team lists, new social calendar items, news about the Good Sports Program and our application for level two accreditation, and a new menu section for club policies, including some related to Good Sports.

Ins and Outs for Round Seven
The Jets seniors have announced several changes this week, most due to injuries. Lachlan Goodey, Jaime Campbell, Sandeep Rana, Kyle Palmer and Chris Paver come in to replace Nick Seller, Luke Broadbent, Kevin Clark and Sam Barling.

The Jets hosted Doncaster last Saturday and struggled in all three matches. The seniors had a good first and last term but fell short by 63 points. The reserves and colts could manage just a goal each and lost by 72 and 101 points respectively.
Hopefully they can bounce back next Saturday against Templestowe.
Tonight's updates include my photos and match report from the senior game (I also photographed the reserves game), ladders for the completion of round six. Mick Clarke was once again on hand to watch the colts again and has kindly provided a match report for that game too.

The Jets seniors started pretty well before being overrun in the second and third terms to lose by 96 points. The Jets reserves and colts struggled likewise in their 120 and 134 point losses respectively.
Let's hope all three teams can turn that around for a win against Doncaster this weekend.
Today's updates include my photos and match report from the senior game (I also photographed the colts game), ladders for the completion of round five. Mick Clarke was on hand to watch the colts again and has kindly provided a match report for that game too.

Jets Hold on Against Hawks for a Thrilling Win!
ABOVE: Tom Burns leads the pack in this marking contest. Photo - Chris Mirtschin
The Jets seniors held off a determined Glen Waverley Hawks side to win by two points in another thriller that went right to the final siren. In a game that ebbed and flowed with the breeze, there were many good performances across the board. Well done to all.
The reserves played well and were level for the first three quarters before the Hawks ran away with it in the last term. The colts are still in there trying their hardest but were outclassed also.

Ins and Outs for Round Four
The Jets seniors have announced two changes for the big game against Glen Waverley Hawks. Mark Birchall steps up from the reserves for his first senior game, whilst Jake Sherriff also returns. Steve Burns (injured) and Sam Barling (unavailable) are out. Jesse Francis, Jackson Kolevich and Cameron McPherson are the emergencies.
The reserves have made three changes, bringing in Sam Pezzimenti, Charles Stenson and Sandeep Rana to replace Jake Sherriff, Mark Birchall and Jaime Villani (injured).
Important Note - Central Reserve Location
Please note that the Glen Waverley Hawks have moved to a new nest at Central Reserve in Glen Waverley. It's on the corner of Springvale and Waverley roads, over the road from Lane Toyota. Click here for a link to Google Maps showing the location.

Jets Fight Back to Defeat Panthers

The Jets seniors made it two in a row with a thrilling fight back against the Panthers to win by six points. Following a poor start in the first half, they trailed Chirnside Park by 23 points. The lead changed several times in the second half, with Anthony Bucello kicking his third goal at the 29 minute mark of the final term to seal the win.
Levi Horton was the top goal scorer for the reserves with his three goals. The Panthers had the upper hand on the day and won by 20 points.
The colts had a huge turn of fortune. Fresh from a 174 point loss to ladder leaders Ringwood, they rebounded for their first win of the season, by ten points over the Panthers. Well done!
Heathmont Jets Start Division 3 EFL Campaign in Style
Conor Ryan from the Maroondah Leader has given the Jets a good write up in this week's issue. Click here to check it out.
First up, apologies for the delay in this week's update. I normally post it by Wednesday night but was at a gig last night.
Today's updates include my photos and match report from the senior game, ladders for the completion of round three. Mick Clarke was on hand to watch the colts win. He has kindly provided a match report for that game too. Thanks very much Mick.
As I mentioned recently, all contributions are welcome. If you have something for the site, please let me know.
I'll be back later tonight with the ins and outs after selection is made.
Ins and Outs for Round Three
The Jets seniors have made three changes for tomorrow's game against Chirnside Park. Nick Seller, Jayden Himmerman and Kyle Palmer come into the side (Kyle is making his senior debut) to replace Jesse Francis, Matthew Beasley and Lachlan Goodey.
The reserves have a number of changes also. Jesse Francis, Chris Paver, Matthew Beasley, Paul Asselman, Patrick Warman and Jaime Campbell come in to replace Rob Bosher, Jake Sherriff, James Matcott, Sam Pezzimenti, Aaron Hamer and Jayden Himmerman.
The colts have two players making their debut, Lachlan Sverns and Toby Williams.
Make sure you're at the hangar tomorrow to cheer the boys on to a win. Go Jets!

The Jets headed to Jubilee Park last Saturday to take on the Redbacks. The winner of the seniors game would determine who took home the Parker Family Cup. Fortunately, it was the Jets that prevailed in a tough 12 point victory.
The reserves never gave up during their game but fell short by 16 points in the end.
The colts had a tough encounter against the ladder leaders to say the least. That said, we're just rapt to have a colts side up and running again. It is very much a work in progress. The Jets recognise the importance of this team and supports them fully.
Ins and Outs for Round Two
The seniors have named an unchanged line up for this week's squad, aside from listing two emergencies in Anthony Bucello and Will Villani.
The reserves have more ins than outs at this stage - In comes Jake Sherriff, Aaron Hamer, Luke Arthur, Andrew Strickland, Andrew Reidy, Kieran and Rob (apologies for lack of surnames on the last two). Outs are Ashley O'Driscoll, Louis Wain, Simon Minson and Greeney.
Colts coach Gareth Woodcock is pleased to announce Louis Meagher and Darren Sturdy will be playing their debut games for the colts this Saturday.
Tigers Bite Too Much for Jets

The Jets hosted Mitcham last Saturday and fell short in all three matches. The colts are a relatively new side brought together by coach Gareth Woodcock and captain Sean Furniss - the Jets did not field a colts team last season. They got better as the game progressed but lost by 52 points. The reserves were short on numbers and had a couple of colts double up with a second game. They ended up losing by 55 points. The seniors had a real go from start to finish, but turned the ball over too often in their forward line and ended up losing by 52 points following a strong finish by the Tigers.
The ladies luncheon is on again on Saturday 18th May from noon at the clubrooms when the Jets host Doncaster.
The cost is $25 per person and covers a two course meal and two glasses of sparkling/wine.
RSVP by Sunday 12th May to Anne Parker on 0438 356 002.
Tonight's updates include my photos and match report from the senior game, ladders for the completion of round one, and the colts fixture has been published too. I've also updated the team lists with leaders announced at selection night last Thursday.
I hope to have Daniel Vanvelzen helping out with some reserves match reports in coming weeks. If you would like to contribute in any way to the website, please let me know. The more content, the better. I'd especially appreciate it if someone who sees colts games regularly could write match reports for them.
If I could give away my day job, I'd have time to write about and photograph every game for all three sides. The bills keep coming so that's impossible. Any help with site content will be appreciated.
Extraordinary General Meeting
An EGM is to be held at the clubrooms from 8:00 pm on Thursday 2nd May. The primary reason for this is certify some amendments to club rules regarding our liquor license. The meeting is not expected to be a long one, and all members are invited to attend and/or vote on the proposed amendment.
Further details on the context of the rule amendments will be available soon.

Come on down for an early look at the Jets 2013 line up.
Clubroom Set Up
The Jets have taken over the clubrooms from the cricket club and will be busy setting it up ready for use tomorrow night. If you have some spare time from 6:00 pm to give the committee a hand, we'd appreciate it.
